Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required Must-Have: - Required work setting experience in Med/Surg - Required cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills/experience - Required gastrointestinal case skills/experience including colostomy care and feeding tube care and management - Required IV therapy/phlebotomy skills/experience including accessing ports and central line management - Required medication experience with heparin, insulin, and PCA - Required neurological/psychiatric case skills/experience including CVA and pre/post neuro surgery - Required respiratory case skills/experience including chest tube management - Required professional knowledge and skills in isolation precautions and wound care Description: Position available for a Medical Surgical Neuro RN. Shift is three 12-hour days. Average daily census is 32 patients. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. Weekend work is required every other weekend. The candidate will float as needed within their scope to meet facility needs. Local candidates are welcome with no radius restrictions. Ideally, no more than 5 days of requested time off. Candidates may be called off for up to 36 hours during the assignment without pay for the canceled hours. If more hours are canceled than permitted, the client will be billed for the excess. Experience with telemetry and rapid response teams is necessary. The candidate should have skills in consecutive bladder irrigation. Cerner experience is required. Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Trauma Level II experience is also preferred. Daily patient ratios and other specifics regarding patient demographics will be discussed in interviews.
